1) OPEN LETTER TO NEW PRIME MINISTER CAMPAIGN:
Change policy, not just leader

Very shortly Labour will elect a new leader. We are launching a campaign to try to force the new Prime Minister to break with Bush's foreign policy. We have drawn up an open letter to the new Prime Minister calling for all troops to be pulled out of Iraq by October 2007, for there to be no attack on Iran and for the government to break with Washington's foreign policy. Please contact your local STWC group and contact your local Labour MP, councillors and constituency officers to get as many of them as possible to sign the letter.

There are also going to be ‘hustings’ meetings involving leadership candidates in some cities and towns across the UK. We will let you know where these will be and when as soon as the information reaches this office.

2) WHAT TO DO IF THEY ATTACK IRAN
(full details here: http://www.stopwar.org.uk/)

There are many rumours of an imminent attack on Iran. If an attack takes place, Stop the War Coalition, in conjunction with CND, will call an emergency protest outside Downing Street at 6pm on the day of the attack. We are asking all our supporters to join this protest. (If the attack takes place at night, the protest will take place at 6pm on the following day, or if on a weekend, at 12 noon on the appropriate day). If you need information and the Stop the War office is closed (evenings, weekends) call 07951 579 064 for information. If unable to speak directly to us leave a message and we will return your call or send you a text message if using a mobile.
